Resident DJ Pittsburgh Eagle
PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR Hot Tracks NRG and XL Series

John Hrabar
Known in Pittsburgh and around the world for his NRGetic track selections and mixing style, John Hrabar enjoys a current three-year residency at the Pittsburgh Eagle. His longest stint at a Pittburgh gay dance club took place from 1985 to 1996 at the fondly-remembered Crossover, later renamed Jazi's. John has spun virtually every big room in the city, following Jazi's with residencies at Pegasus and Icon. His landmark style has been heard at annual gay picnics in North Park, as well as during guest spots as diverse as Skylights and CJ Dieghan's in Pittsburgh to Chainz in Fort Lauderdale.

As a chairperson for the eurodance panel held annually at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, John enjoys forming an eclectic group of industry professionals from artists to producers to circuit djs while providing them a unique forum where the direction of energetic dance music can be discussed.

John reports his weekly Eagle playlists to nine dance music trade publications around the world, including Chicago's Dance Music Authority Magazine. He reviewed dance music releases for DMA, and the seven-year experience gave him the opportunity to interview such artists as Abigail and Love Inc. He currently writes reviews online for music.com and last interviewed Thunderpuss 2000 for the site.

As a member of the Grammys, John is credited as a liner note writer for full-length CD releases, ranging from Hot Production's Tea Dance series to an Australian DJ remix service best-of issue.

Most recently hired as Program Director for the world's most successful remix service Hot Tracks, John's remixes and track selections characterize both the service's XL and NRG Series used by guest spinners at the Pittsburgh Eagle.
He views the type of clientele who go to the Eagle as his personal favorite to "twirl CDs" for, loving the genuine energy and passion generated from the sweaty and often shirtless weekend crowds.
